The Covenant

By Naomi Ragen

Posted on January 16, 2009 12:00 AM MST by Kasey Heinly

Elise Margulies’ worst fears are realized when her husband and daughter are kidnapped by terrorists near their home in Jerusalem. Confined to bed rest during a difficult pregnancy, she calls her grandmother for aid and support. What she does not realize, is that with that phone call, an oath is revived, and her grandmother and those bound to her will stop at nothing to bring Elise’s husband and daughter safely home.

Naomi Ragen is hailed as one of Israel’s most popular writers, and it is easy to understand why. Her passion for Israel and its people is evident as she tells this story. Her characters are dynamic and engaging. She weaves together the stories of two different generations and faiths with one common goal: to see a man and his daughter returned safely home.

The Covenant is fast-paced. Beware—once you get into the story, you won’t want to put it down. It is full of heartache and humor, love and loyalty.
