Random thoughts on living by faith

Posted on October 29, 2008 12:00 AM MST by Sara Richardson

“…But the righteous will live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:4

What is living by faith?

Living with unwavering confidence that the Lord is with you. Always.

Expecting answers to your prayers, even though they won’t always be obvious.

Living dangerously. Throwing yourself out there. Taking risks for God—starting a conversation, doing a random act of kindness for someone you’ve never met.

Believing that no matter what you go through, you will get through it and you’ll be better off.

Living by faith is not always planning out your next move, but instead sitting quietly to wait.

Seeing your unique purpose. Walking through an open door and walking away from one that closes.

Waking with a hopeful breath each morning—seeing the beauty of what could be, thinking in possibilities rather than probabilities.

Living by faith means giving up while at the same time holding on.

It is constant prayer, consistent love, courageous service, careful conversation.

Living by faith is a true paradox.
