Sweet Caroline
By Rachel Hauck

Posted on October 14, 2008 12:00 AM MST by Kasey Heinly

Caroline Sweeney has never really done anything big for herself. When her mom left the family, she devoted herself to caring for her dad and brother. Then she took a job to help a failing local cafe. But when the cafe's owner dies and leaves the establishment to Caroline just when she's been offered the job of her dreams, she doesn't know what to do. As she struggles to make her decision, life--or as she comes to realize--God throws her a few unexpected curves to make her choices and His plan perfectly clear.

Rachel Hauck's writing is always lively, light, and humorous. I laughed out loud several times through the story. But also true to Hauck’s style—the story is not without a strong spiritual core. Caroline explores God’s plan for her life, both in terms of career and life partner. Her struggles are very real and so easy to identify with.

The story of Caroline's best friend, Love Starts with Elle, was released in July 2008. Rachel Hauck recently won the Maggie Award for her novel Diva Nashvegas.
